December 12, 2006:

General Changes:
  • Fixed all Catacomb/Necropolis 'stuck in the first room' bugs. Should work now.
  • Attempted some database fixes to fix Quest Window loss after relog, etc.
  • Christmas Event has been disabled due to abuse. Too many drops on the ground = lag/crash.
  • Various items have been added to the Test Server Helper Misses. Queen.
  • Clan rejoin penalties, alliance penalties, and other penalties are all now zero/very short. Until the changes are coded as defaults (soon) this will require manual changing by the GM every reboot.

Skill Changes:
  • Clarity buff slot no longer interferes with Shield. Other skills also had their buff slots changed.
  • Frenzy/Rage have lost their 1h sword/blunt bonus while testing the root cause of the "Destro Bug" is in effect.
  • Changed Critical Blow to self-buff the user for 15 seconds after use.
  • Increased the reuse delay on Mana Burn and Mana Storm. (Need official data)
  • Increased Major Heal Reuse Delay from 2 to 3 seconds. Skill cast time is 2.5.
  • An issue with Erase Skill not working after the latest skill build has been changed back. The skill should work now.
  • Curse Fear success rate has gone from a base 40% to 60%. In C4, this was a base of 20%.

December 14, 2006:

General Changes:
  • Added Blank Scrolls to the Tester Server Helper Misses Queen, as well as changed the Ancient Adena price/ratio.
  • Added Star of Destiny and Mimir's Elixir quest items to both Test Server Helpers.
  • All players now have a 300% weight limit, and will only have this during Open Beta.
  • Changed CP potion weight to 25, and Greater CP Potion weight to 100.
  • Zariche should now drain all of your CP upon contact. Instant 0 CP if you get hit by it's attack.

Skill Changes:
  • Changed Fell Swoop to only work when equipped with a Polearm.
  • Changed Polearm Focus Attack to only work when equipped with a Polearm.
  • Increased Summon Treasure Key reuse delay to 5 minutes and added MP usage. (Need official data)
  • Attempted to add back in the single-handed sword/blunt bonuses to Frenzy and Rage.
  • Mass Curse Fear base landing rate has been increased from 20% to 40%.
  • Mana Burn reuse delay has been increased to 30 seconds from 10 seconds and effective range has increased from 1100 to 1500. Also, effect has been changed so it affects white/unflagged players. (Need official data)
  • Mana Storm reuse delay has been increased to 60 seconds from 15 seconds, casting range has been decreased from 900 to 600, and base casting time has been increased to 6 seconds from 4 seconds. (Need official data)
  • Magical Backfire effect has changed. Before, it only affected the MP usage of magical skills. It now also affects physical skills. The skill effect ranges from 10% MP usage increase at level 1 to 15% MP usage increase at level 10.
  • Spirit of Sagittarius effect has changed. Before, it only affected the MP usage of magical skills. It has been changed to Physical skills.
  • Blessing of Sagittarius and Spirit of Sagittarius have both been changed to from 2 minute buffs to 20 minute buffs, and have both had their effect reduced from 20%, 30%, and 40% to 4%, 7%, and 10%, respectively. (Need official data)
  • Clarity effect has changed. Before, it only affected the MP usage of magical skills. It now also affects physical skills.
  • Tribunal and Judgement have been changed to be able to affect white/unflagged players. Before, these skills would require a player to be purple/flagged.
  • Banish Undead was consuming the wrong item. It now consumes Soul Ore instead of Spirit Ore, like it is supposed to.
  • Changed Rapid Fire effect so that it no longer gives +20% attack speed to all weapons, and only gives +20% attack speed to bows. Everything else was a bow-only bonus already.
  • Changed Zealot for both Destroyer and Tyrant to only give Attack Speed and Accuracy when using Sword/Blunt or Fist weapons, respectively.
  • Betray's effect has been increased from a base landing rate of 30% to 40%. This skill is still a temporary soluton, until the new version is rewritten.

Helpful Information:
  • Pick up all your drops! Leaving drops on the gorund creates lag, wastes bandwidth, and can possibly get you suspended/banned! Be kind to the server and other players, and pick up your drops. If you don't need the drops, use the trash can, or sell them to a shop.
  • You can skip your first class change! Simply level to level 40 and talk to the Test Server Helpers to change your class.
  • Blacksmith of Mammon can be found from the Seven Signs Quest Event during the Seal Validation Period. Search the Catacombs and Necropolises to find him.
  • Seven Signs is in Quick Cycle at the moment, 2 Hours every cycle.

December 16, 2006:

General Changes:
  • All characters under level 40 now have 200% HP regeneration while sitting down.
  • C5 items are now being officially sold at the Test Server Helper Misses Queen. All prices are two times the price they sell for at any shop.

Skill Changes:
  • Mana Burn has been changed to only affect purple/flagged players, as was confirmed on retail.
  • Psycho Symphony and Demonic Blade Dance effects have been changed. Effect 1 does -10% to all listed stats. Effect 5 does -30% to all listed stats.
  • All 'slow' skills which decrease run speed have been changed. Effect 1 skills do -15%. Effect 2 skills do -30%. Effect 3 skills do -45%.
  • Tribunal and Judgement effects have been changed. Both skills used to have a PVP Hate effect, and this has been changed to a PVE Hate effect.
  • Dash reuse time has been increased to 120 seconds from 80 seconds.
  • Erase skill effect has been changed (again) while testing it to work correctly.
  • All Energy Skills skill critical rate has been increased to 500% what it was before.

In Development:
  • Clan Privileges are being worked on. No ETA right now, but hopefully within a few days.
  • Clan window bugs regarding online player's 'name color' and your own player's level/class being out-of-date are being worked on. No ETA right now.
  • Clan window War List is being worked on. No ETA right now, but hopefully as soon as possible.
  • Skill Enchanting bugs are being looked into. Should be fixed within a few days.
  • Schuttgart is being worked on (more) and will soon be ready for use during Beta.
  • C5 GateKeeper teleport list/prices are being worked on.
  • Other things are also in development. Thanks for your patience.

  • Added fixes for HP/MP/CP stacking exploits into the server.
  • Changed the Member Info window to be more friendly, and allow for clan leaders to dismiss offline players.
  • An attempt was made to fix the Quest Window at login, but nothing final yet.
  • Some fun support for the Zariche "Red Sky" has been added.
  • All Clan/Alliance penalties are now zero during Open Beta. No more GM is needed to set these every reboot.

General Changes:
  • Demonic Sword Zariche stats and effects have been adjusted. The Zariche "Drain CP" effect should be working now.
  • Skill Enchanting, which was previously broken, has now been fixed and is working correctly.
  • The Secret Book of Giants, used for Skill Enchanting, can now be purchased from the Test Server Helper Misses Queen for 2 million adena.

Skill Changes:
  • All Totems have had their effects changed. All Totems now require fist weapons to be equipped before you can use them. All positive Totem effects have also been changed to only work on fist weapons (as much as is possible).

The following updates have been done on the development server while Open Beta has been offline. This is posted to let you know of our progress.

December 28 - January 2, 2007:

General Changes:
  • When logging into the server, your Quest Window is no longer blank. This bug has been fixed.
  • Basic Clan Privileges are now functioning. Being able to edit Clan Privileges for different ranks is currently unsupported, but is planned to be supported in the near future. For now, Ranks 1 - 5 have been given different Privileges based on what I thought different clan leaders would want, and Affiliation Rank has no privileges.

Skill Learning Changes:

(Thanks to Ryuusei for the Skill Learning changes!)
  • Elemental Summoner
    • Wind Shackle [Lvl 2-19] was added.
    • Mass Surrender to Water [Lvl 2-5] was added.
  • Elven Elder
    • Trance [Lvl 5] was added.
    • Erase [Lvl 5] was added.
    • Turn Undead [Lvl 5] was added.
    • Mana Burn [Lvl 5] was added.
    • Unholy Resistance [Lvl 2] was added.

    NOTE: Trance, Erase, Turn Undead, Mana Burn, and Unholy Resistance should be able to be learned properly up to their max level now. Level 5 was skipped, and that was why EE's couldn't learn anymore.

  • Plains Walker
    • Summon Treasure Key [Lvl 1] was added for lvl 46. Summon Treasure Key [Lvl 1] was taken away for lvl 55. (Was wrong).

Skill Changes:
  • Pain of Sagittarius HP/MP ratio has been changed to 9:1 from 10:1 (HP vs. MP). Level 5 will now regenerate 45 MP, instead of 41 MP.
  • Major Heal level 10 base cast time was incorrect and set to 5 seconds. This has been fixed and changed to 2.5 seconds, the same as levels 1-9.
  • Curse Fear base landing rate has been increased to 80% from 60%. The skill should now land fairly well on white and yellow mobs.
  • Rage and Frenzy have had their effects changed due to a stacking bug with 1-handed and 2-handed swords and blunts. This should now be corrected.
  • Infernal Form fire resistance effect was functioning incorrectly. This has been fixed, and now gives the correct 15%-25% fire resistance.

Item Changes:
  • Flaming Dragon Skull [Magic Power] and Flaming Dragon Skull [Magic Silence] Special Abilities have been fixed.
  • CP Potion and Greater CP Potion reuse times have been changed to 50% of their values in C4, as per retail.

In Development:
  • Advanced features of Clan Privileges are currently in development.
  • Geodata is being recreated for the entire L2 world. Hopefully it will be bug free for Live.
  • Basic C5 mobs and NPCs are being redesigned from the ground up, and will hopefully be making their first appearances in the future.
  • A new, safer, and more polished client pack is currently in development.
  • More robust and extensive anti-bot measures are currently in development.
  • Other C5 additions and changes are also in development.

January 12, 2007 - January 15, 2007:

General Changes:
  • When viewing the Clan Window and looking at 'yourself' in the list, your class and level will now update properly and no longer require a relog to update.
    When opening the World Map (ALT+M) and clicking World Info the various tabs like Quests and Hunting Areas now correctly show the proper NPC name instead of saying "None" like they did before. By clicking on an NPC name, you can see where they are located.
  • Another change within World Info is the Raid Boss tab. You are now able to see a list of all Raid Bosses with your personal raid score and server ranking. By clicking on a Raid Boss name you can see where they are located. Right now the point and ranking system does not work, and will probably not work for a very, very long time.
  • Issues with NPCs not showing the correct graphics, such as the Dark Avenger panther, have been fixed. There may be a few new bugs that have appeared, but we hope not.
  • Missing NPCs such as Pixy Murika and Blight Treant have been placed back into the world.

Geodata Changes:
  • Geodata in Orc Village and Dark Elven Village have been replaced and should be fixed.

Skill Changes:
  • All skills with a Lethal Strike effect have been changed. Lethal Strike effect will no longer work on Raid Bosses or Chronicle Bosses (i.e. Valakas).
  • Arcane Disruption and Magical Backfire have had their attribute of "Death" removed and changed to "None".


    Skill Criticals have been changed for all skills with a critical effect. Here is a breakdown of each skill changed:
    • Force Blaster and Sonic Blaster skill critical rate has been adjusted to about 1/8-1/10.
    • Force Buster, Force Storm, Sonic Buster, and Sonic Storm skill critical rates have been adjusted to about 1/12-1/15.
    • Double Sonic Slash and Triple Sonic Slash skill critical rate has been adjusted to about 1/25.
    • Hurricane Assault skill critical rate has been adjusted to about 1/25.
    • Backstab skill critical rate has been adjusted to about 1/8-1/10.
    • Double Shot skill critical rate has been adjusted to about 1/15-1/18.
    • Sonic Rage and Force Rage skill critical rate has been adjusted to about 1/4-1/5.
    • Armor Crush and Shock Blast skill critical rate has been adjusted to about 1/8-1/10.
    • Lethal Shot and Hamstring Shot skill critical rate has been adjusted to about 1/12-1/15.
    • Lethal Blow skill critical rate has been adjusted to about 1/6-1/8.
    Note: these values have not been *heavily* tested but should be correct according to the tests I did perform.

  • Summon: Quiver of Arrows Grade A has had it's effect changed. This skill now summons between 700 - 2800 mithril arrows, up from 450 - 1800 mithril arrows.
  • Summon: Quiver of Arrows Grade S has had it's effect changed. This skill now summons between 900 - 3600 shining arrows, up from 650 - 2600 shining arrows.
  • Quiver of Holding has had it's effect changed to +30%, +40%, and +50% weight limit for each respective level.
  • Duelist Spirit has had its PVP damage bonus changed to +10% from +5%. This bonus affects both physical attacks and physical skills.
  • Summon CP Potions skill for Noblesse now takes 50 Soul Ore instead of 80 Soul Ore.

Item Changes:
  • All C5 item weights, crystal counts, and npc shop prices have been fixed according to retail (thanks to Wappie).

In Development:
  • Quest Monsters that have stopped spawning, such as class change quest monsters, are being fixed and will be working again next maintenance.
  • C5 Skill MP costs, cast times, and cast ranges are all being checked and adjusted to C5 retail standards. These should all hopefully be done within the next couple of days.
  • C5 Items at the Test Server Helpers are being 'fixed' to have proper prices. Once they are fixed, they will be added back into normal use during Open Beta.

January 19, 2007

Note: Not all of the Quest Monsters in the AI have been fixed yet. I'll try to finish the rest of them today and upload the final AI later.

General Changes:
  • All specialized servitors have now been given a 10% PVP damage penalty. All unspecialized servitors, such as hatchlings and baby pets, have been given a 40% PVP damage penalty. This effect has been untested.
  • Missing Quest monsters such as Durka's Spirit and White Unicorn have been added back into the world. All missing NPCs should now be spawning again (hopefully).
  • Bloody Queen has been added back into the world as "Blood Queen" as she is now called in C5. I am sure most of you didn't miss the most hated mob in Lineage 2 history!


Skill Changes:
  • Zealot healing penalty effect has been changed from a -80% penalty to a -50% penalty.
  • Holy Resistance and Unholy Resistance have had their effects changed. Levels 1 - 3 add 15%, 23%, and 30% resist, up from 15%, 20%, 25%.
  • Major skill update that affects every skill in the game, including NPC skills that changed between C4 and C5.
    • All skills have had their MP costs fixed. C5 skills had their MP costs especially wrong until now.
    • All skills have had their Cast Range fixed, but I believe only Mass Slow was wrong after checking them all.
    • All skills have had their Casting Time fixed. A lot of skills with a base casting time of 1.5 seconds changed to 2 seconds.


    Note: due to the incredible number of skills changed during this update, it is unlikely that the skills will be listed with the exact changes. The total count of changes checked was over 12500 if we count MP costs, cast range, and cast time as three seperate changes.

General Changes:
  • Opened the C5 items shop in the cats again. Item prices are 27 million adena for all weapons. No complaining :P Prices are staying as they are.

Skill Changes:
  • Tribunal effect has been changed. Effect 1, 2, and 3 have changed from -20%, -25%, and -30% critical rate to -30%, -40%, and -50% critical rate, respectively.
  • Judgement effect has been changed. Effect 1, 2, and 3 have changed from -20%, -25%, and -30% critical damage to -25%, -30%, and -35% critical damage, respectively.
  • Clarity buff time has been changed from 5 minutes to 20 minutes.
  • Mana Burn reuse time has changed from 30 seconds to 6 seconds.
  • Mana Storm reuse time has changed from 60 seconds to 20 seconds.
  • Magical Backfire reuse time has changed from 5 minutes to 10 seconds.
  • Erase reuse time has has changed from 20 seconds to 10 seconds.
  • Trance reuse time and debuff time have changed. Reuse time has changed from 6 seconds to 7 seconds. Debuff time has changed from 15 seconds to 30 seconds.
  • Arrest base cast time, reuse time, and base landing rate have changed. Base cast time has changed from 2 seconds to 1.2 seconds. Reuse time has changed from 12 seconds to 10 seconds. Base landing rate has changed from 50% to 80%.
  • Shackle base cast time, reuse time, and base landing rate have changed. Base cast time has changed from 2 seconds to 3 seconds. Reuse time has changed from 12 seconds to 10 seconds. Base landing rate has changed from 50% to 80%.
  • Mass Shackling base cast time and base landing rate have been changed. Base cast time has changed from 3 seconds to 4 seconds. Base landing rate has changed from 50% to 60%.
  • The buff/debuff slots for a couple skills have been changed to prevent improper buff/debuff replacement.
  • The HP consumption for many skills has been changed as follows:
    • Focus Sonic HP consumption has changed from 20 HP to 25 HP for level 1-5.
    • Shock Blast HP consumption has changed from 254 HP to 507 HP.
    • Armor Crush HP consumption has changed from 254 HP to 338 HP.
    • Zealot HP consumption has been added with a consume of 159 HP, 183 HP, and 204 HP for levels 1, 2, and 3, respectively.
